Journal Articles

SafetyLit staff and volunteers regularly hand-examine (issue by issue) more than 4000 current scholarly journals to find relevant material. We perform a daily PubMed search of records added to that database in the past 24 hours by publishers of almost 3000 journals and perform a weekly search of an additional scholarly journal websites that are not indexed in PubMed. Many other current journal websites are scanned at least once per volume. We also perform (quite sensitive) daily keyword searches of PubMed and Google Scholar for items that meet the SafetyLit inclusion criteria but that are not in our journal-specific searches. As new journals are identified that contain relevant material, these journals are added to the journal search system.

This information is maintained in a searchable database that contains more than ,000 journal articles. Approximately 500 articles from recent publications and 150 articles from journal backfiles are added each week.  The journals in SafetyLit are published in 159 of the world's nations.
