Abstract

Those of us in the home care and hospice industry know we have a major role in disaster preparedness. Our history is rich with examples of that. We have participated in events such as the Great Influenza Pandemic of 1918 and other pandemics, mass immunizations programs, communicable disease outbreaks, and of course, after natural disasters such as Hurricane Katrina.
