Abstract

Croatian Ordinance on placing of Personal Protective Equipment on the Market has been meticulously compared with the 'Product Directive' for PPE – Directive 89/686/EEC and Guidelines on the Application of Council Directive 89/686/EEC. It has been found that the Ordinance contains a number of mistakes, deficiencies and inaccuracies, so that it is practically impossible to amend it through a 'change and addition' process. The Ordinance does not specify clearly how to prove the conformity of PPE with the Safety at Work Act in the transition period until the ACAA agreement between Croatia and EU has been accepted or until Croatia joins the EU. The publication of a new version of the Ordinance has been proposed.
