Abstract

The reasons behind the problems caused in the cockpit checklist and the solutions to remove them, are discussed. The reasons behind many air accidents are inadequate cockpit checklist and procedures, ineffective control practises regarding manufacturer's service bulletins and stresses imposed upon the crew by their attempts to meet an air traffic control control deadlines. They effect automatic checklist as there would be no way for the aircraft to depart unless all items were satisfied. With use of microminiature integrated circuitry, 'configuration assurance computers' are available for most medium size or large general aviation aircraft.
