Abstract

The great burden of legal decisions, in particular, is creating a demand for a more definite statement of principles which shall emancipate to some extent from the tyranny of things. The concept of proximate cause has been applied in four kinds of cases: (1) actyions on policies of marine insurance; (2) highway cases; (3) actions of tort; and (4) measure of damages.
