• Past month simultaneous alcohol and marijuana (SAM) users engaged in greater risky driving than single substance users
• SAM users perceived risky driving behaviors to be safer than single substance users
• SAM users engaged in greater risky driving than concurrent users including driving after using marijuana
• SAM users thought that driving after smoking marijuana was safer than concurrent users of alcohol and marijuana
