Abstract

Abused, neglected, or abandoned children of undocumented immigrants have the possibly of attaining lawful permanent residency--the so called "green card" status--through an application for Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS). Given that being a minor child, having undocumented status, and suffering from neglect or abuse places an individual in a triply vulnerable position, those who advocate for such children will find great benefit in taking advantage of the instructions in this final section.
