Abstract

Railroad police squads are based at major stations in various localities and their mission is to "protect the life, person, and property of individuals; prevent crime; apprehend violators; prevent accidents; and otherwise maintain public safety and order at railroad facilities." To fulfill its mission, railroad police squads engage in activities including security and patrolling at railroad facilities, as well as policing on trains. In this report, the author introduces the state of crimes and police squad activities at stations and other railroad facilities.
