Abstract

Children aged seven, eight and nine are committing status offenses and acts of delinquency. Recently, educators and human service professionals have begun to suggest that early intervention is crucial if further delinquency is to be prevented. This study presents the demographic characteristics of one young offender population. Suggestions for intervention in the primary grades are offered in an attempt to prevent the young offender from becoming a chronic repeat offender.
