Abstract

The article focuses on the passage of the Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act (VTVPA) implemented by the U.S. Congress in 2000. The passage of the said law provides discernment to the victims of human trafficking to certain protections and benefits. The Congress designed a system that allows bonafide trafficked persons to apply for and receive relief in the form of a T visa evaluated under any credible evidence standard.
