Abstract

In order for prostitution('sexual traffic' in Korean law) prevention act to go through, executive's associated parts, female corporations, national congress made an effort in their own way and from those fruition, it is evaluated to have meaningful results. In Korea, this act ('Act on the prevention of sexual traffic and protection, etc. of victims thereof') will be documented not only as the 16th congress's the best fruition, but also as female associated legislation which holds vast meaning in history. In this paper, the author is willing to analyze the implication of establishing the legislation of prostitution prevention in Korea. The purpose of this Act is to prevent sexual traffic, protect victims of sexual traffic and persons who have sex with people in exchange for money and support their self-reliance(article 1). The State and a local government shall arrange the legal and institutional system and take necessary administrative and fiscal measures in order to accomplish this Act's purpose. About six years have passed since this Act enforced, currently most Korean people regards sexual traffic as a crime and realizes that the humanist ultimate goal to abolish prostitution can not be forgotten at any cost.
