Abstract

This article presents the results of a research developed by the University of Rosario Humans Rights Group, The Criminal Law Group of University of Rosario Law school, and the support of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (unodc) with the purpose of determining if there exist failures in the current characterization of human trafficking crime in Colombia. This article begins with a general description of the methodology used therein, afterwards the general aspects regarding the human trafficking crime in Colombian law and the standards proposed by the International Law concerning prevention, protection and judgment of this crime and its application from the Humans Rights perspective is analyzed. This article ends up with some recommendations and conclusions regarding to the subject.
