Abstract

The article focuses on the intersection of the juvenile justice system and the educational system in Washington, D.C. It analyzes the leverage points of the two areas where they influence each other prior to the entry of youth to the juvenile system, during detention, and reentry. It mentions that by identifying and targeting leverage points in school systems, schools can help to prevent juveniles from entering the juvenile justice system.
