Abstract

1. Epidemiological research incorporates four major areas of study, each involving different methods: observations, natural experiments, experimental epidemiology, and theoretical model construction. 2. Constant tracking of health outcomes and changes is invaluable in determining specific preventive actions that will minimize employee health changes or injuries. 3. Health care professionals who are responsible for occupational safety and health should review their current prevention practices.
