Abstract

The findings from the evaluation of the proprietary database at the Department of Trauma at Stroger Hospital of Cook County are discussed. The baby boomers are increasing the average age of patients in the U.S. leading to a demographic shift and also leading to older individuals being active, predisposing them to injury.
