Abstract

The students in the journalism school at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln produced a project to recall the 1959 murders of the Clutter family. The students convinced some of the major figures in the case to talk for the first time and convinced a newspaper, Journal-World, to run their work. The students came up with a wealth of new information including the first interviews ever given by several key players in the story. The students interviewed Bobby Rupp, the boyfriend of murder victim Nancy Clutter, who was initially questioned as a suspect in the murders of Cllutter family.
