Abstract

The purpose of this study is to consider the experience of support and recovery for victims of domestic violence, and also the role of the medical coworker as a professional supporter. Seven people cooperated with the study via self-assessment questionnaire. All were victims of domestic violence participating in survivors meetings held in a metropolitan area by a private clinic. All had experienced trauma brought on by domestic violence even whilst receiving support, and were also suffering from stress inflicted on minors living in the same household. However, all answered that participation in self-help groups had played an important role in their recovery.
