Abstract

Domestic violence (DV) is physical, emotional, psychological, and sexual abuse. It is not gender specific and can affect men, women, and children. Recent FBI statistics report that a spouse or partner is abused every 12 seconds. Education and self-help sources raise awareness, which in turn can prevent domestic violence. The World Wide Web has equaled and even surpassed print resources as the most current and complete location of information on DV. This article is a select list of quality sites dealing with some aspect of DV and is intended as a starting point for the victim, the educator, and the researcher investigating this subject.
