Abstract

This article explores the topic of Shaken Baby Syndrome and the consequences for surviving children and those that care for them. The impact of both the civil law and the Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme in Great Britain are considered. The article addresses perceived inadequacies in the multi-disciplinary approach to dealing with compensation in such cases and in the compensation systems themselves.
