Abstract

Childhood accidents are a common health problem encountered in A&E. This article highlights the importance of A&E nurses giving effective advice to parents prior to discharge, particularly through building up a rapport with the family. It is also important that A&E nurses recognise the importance of environmental strategies and legislation in preventing childhood accidents.
