Abstract

Hearing losses are one of the most common impairments of old age. Reduction of auditory efficiency, which is a normal age change, may affect self-confidence and interpersonal relationships and interfere with the daily living activities of older persons. This article discusses changes which can be made by the hearing impaired person, by those communicating with the hearing impaired individual, and in the environment to compensate for decreased hearing.
