Abstract

A presentation of a refreshing new use for the resi- dents' newsletter in a nursing home facility. The article points out the kinds of newsletters ordinarily seen, the needed changes and the ways in which these changes may be implemented in order to act as a truly therapeutic tool. To create a genuinely resident-oriented pa- per is the ultimate aim, accomplished through such devices as indi- vidual life reviews, resident participation (including writings), and the use of carefully selected art work to orient residents to such things as seasons, months and holidays.
