Abstract

The increasing incidence of violence in the lives of adolescents has been of concern for some time, and more recent evidence of its extension into the lives of young children has intensified that concern. The possibility that violence is a social mutation responding to pathological relationships among institutions and nations, and to the social institutions that ratify those relationships, is examined from psychological, social, and ethical perspectives.
