Abstract

Students are not viewed as only passive respondents to external forces which determine school crime; rather, student social structures-subcultures are viewed as potential forces influencing school crime. Additionally, student social structures-subcultures sometimes seem to modify the larger communities, both the criminal and the noncriminal. Some preliminary data which is suggestive of the general thesis is reported.
