Abstract

The article discusses the culture of violence in video games and its psychological effects on players. Psychologists C. A. Anderson and B. J. Bushman report that frequent engagement to violent videogames induces aggressive beliefs, attitudes and acts, including juvenile delinquency and bullying. Their study reveals that playing violent video games is negatively associated with prosocial behavior.
