Abstract

Schools have recently begun testing and exercising their plans for high-impact, low-probability events, such as school violence. This provides an effective test for lockdown procedures. But equally important will be the allhazards testing of evacuation strategies for natural weather occurrences. These include transportation strategies for evacuations from flooding, wildland fires, hurricanes, chemical releases, or other hazards prevalent in your community.
