Abstract

The current article is aimed to brief the use of the Rorschach method as a therapeutic agent. Since psychotherapy really begins when the patient is first examined, any diagnostic procedure employed by the physician becomes in reality a therapeutic agent. For this reason the Rorschach method has much to offer as an aid in psychotherapy. As the author states, one can say that the Rorschach method is valuable from a therapeutic as well as from a diagnostic standpoint. It can be used as an integral factor in dealing with the patient's total situation as well as dealing with the patient himself. It has a positive and direct therapeutic effect upon the patient himself because it helps establish rapport, assists in giving the patient insight into his condition, and it can have a specific therapeutic value in certain psychiatric situations.
