Abstract

Discusses the theory that violence does not present itself a priori as negative to the self. The present discussion is concerned with the origins of imagery, particularly the role that is played in imagery by the natural instinct for violence that is common to all humans. But the expression of that instinct, because of the randomness of integration, varies significantly from one individual to another. A better understanding of these individual variations is needed.
