Abstract

This book offers a theoretical framework of the Vulnerability Stress model and employs cognitive behavioural approach as an effective intervention strategy for common and severe mental health disorders. It has been structured in a logical sequence, assisting the reader to have an overview of the focus before the application of the theory to practice.Although the background of the book is set in Hong Kong and the case examples provided are apparently of Chinese origin, the author has skilfully conveyed the application of cognitive-behavioural therapy to a group of people from a different cultural background. The clinical case examples provided afford mental health workers valuable lessons in case management from a biological psychological, environmental and social perspective.
