Abstract

Tested the hypotheses that (1) dexamethasone suppression test (DST) suppressors and nonsuppressors have different clinical pictures and courses, and (2) suicide risk is greater for nonsuppressors. Human subjects: 54 male and female Belgian adolescents and adults (15-77 yrs) (nonendogenous depression). Three consecutive DSTs were performed. The Research Diagnostic Criteria by R. L. Spitzer et al (1978) were used to make diagnoses. Tests used: The Risk-Rescue Rating Scale by A. Weisman and W. Worden (1972), the Recidivism Risk Scale by D. Buglass and J. A. Horton (1974), and the Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression. (English & Dutch abstracts) (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2016 APA, all rights reserved)
