Abstract

Reviews recent research on the prevention of suicide. Emphasis is on the effectiveness of suicide prevention centers, especially among female Ss, and on the restriction of access to suicide methods. Pharmacological and psychotherapeutic treatments for decreasing suicide risk, particularly among depressed Ss, are discussed.
