Abstract

Studied sociodemographic and psychiatric characteristics of suicide attempters. Human Ss: 100 male and female Italian adolescents and adults (aged 15 yrs and older) (suicide attempt). Data on sociodemographic variables, suicide parameters, psychiatric interventions, and history of suicide attempts were obtained by semistructured interview. The results were evaluated according to age, sex, marital status, educational level, occupational status, composition of nuclear family, family problems, treatment, medication, suicide attempt methods, time of day of attempt, previous suicide attempts, and date of latest medical visit prior to suicide attempt.
