Abstract

The increasing rate of suicides and attempted suicides in France, as in other industrial countries is becoming a serious public health problem. The proportion of these suicides involving firearms is also increasing. In a review, the authors study the effects of restrictive legislation in preventing suicides. After reviewing the available literature, they continue their study using recent clinical findings on this kind of behavior.
