Abstract

A case of potentially lethal ingestion of TI2SO4 intoxication is presented. To eliminate thallium, forced diarrhea, forced diuresis and long- term hemodialysis was used. The elimination rates by forced diuresis and hemodialysis were similar. Expectedly, in the first 5 days the maximum of elimination was observed. It is concluded that hemodialysis contributes significantly to Tl+ elimination also when combined with forced diuresis.
