Abstract

Isoniazid is the most effective antituberculous agent yet available. Acute isoniazid poisoning is common in children. More than 30 cases, to our knowledge, have been reported in the literature. Overdose of isoniazid, as in attempted suicide or accidentally may result in uncontrolable convulsions and coma. We report two cases of acute isoniazid intoxication presented with severe convulsions, hyperglycemia and coma and treated with high dose of intravenous pyridoxine hydrochloride successfully.
