Abstract

As a complication following an alcylphosphate intoxication a 44-year-old patient developed diarrhea, decrease of intestinal peristaltic, abdominal pressure pain, meteorism, fever and leukocytosis. The examinations showed the presence of an ischemic colitis starting in the sigma to the upper left flexure. The non-transmural changes in the mucosa completely restored. The cause is a transitory vasoconstriction following extreme stimulation of the sympathicus and even more of the parasympathicus.
