Abstract

The suicidal ingestion of buflomedil is a rarity. Gastric lavage and forced diureses as the recommended form of treatment in acute poisoning could not prevent letal course in many cases. In this case report we introduce a new kind of therapy in acute buflomedil intoxication. A 33-year-old woman with suicidal ingestion of 12 gramms of buflomedil (plasma level: 80,7 mg/l) survived after administration of hemofiltration and usual ICU treatment.
