Abstract

A 38-year-old woman reported that 'a chronic option of suicide suddenly became an acute one' after a week of pharmacotherapy with sertraline. The ramifications of this case are discussed, and it is concluded that there is a need for careful evaluation of patients for suicidal ideation and proper education of patients during pharmacotherapy.
