Abstract

OBJECTIVE: Identifying the presence of suicidal ideation and associated factors among university students from a public university in Brazil.
METHODS: A cross-sectional study was performed with 72 university students between 18 and 29 years old. Were used a sociodemographic data questionnaire and the Beck's Suicidal Ideation Scale.
RESULTS: The suicidal ideation was significantly in the participants, as well as the association of gender, gender identity, sexual orientation and housing with it.
CONCLUSIONS: The suicidal ideation in this population is important, and there is a need to explore the factors related, such as gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and housing.
