Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the risk factors in adolescents enrolled between the 9thyear of Elementary School and the 3rdyear of High School in private institutions of a municipality of Paraná.

METHODS: This is a descriptive, cross-sectional, field-based research with a quantitative approach. For data collection, a questionnaire adapted from the Brazilian Youth-Version phase II instrument was used.

RESULTS: The results were comprised of responses from 119 adolescents, who reported on sexual behavior, life habits and demographic data, as wellas factors related to the onset of early sexual activity.

CONCLUSION: Sexual and social risk behaviors experienced by adolescents were observed, which are not only related to the characteristics of this period, but also to the context of vulnerabilities in which they are inserted.
