Abstract

OBJECTIVE:To explore the association between religiosity and suicide ideation,in order to provide evidence for suicide prevention in the community residents.

METHODS:Using the data from the epidemiological sur-vey of mental disorders in Ningxia,the association between religiosity and the suicidal ideation was ana-lyzed.Logistic regression model was used to detect the associated factors.

RESULTS:Univariate statistical analysis showed that females,rural residence,residents living in plain area,illiterates and being married had higher risks of suicidal ideation (P 0.05).

CONCLUSION:The results indicate that there is no statistical association between religiosity and suicidal ideation in Ningxia community residents.
