Abstract

Psychotherapy of suicidal patients is of particular importance among the individual-centered approaches to suicide prevention. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical-behavioral therapy (DBT) have proven to have significant effects. Against this background, this CME article presents key interventions for risk assessment and crisis intervention, for addressing suicide-promoting factors, and for relapse prevention in a practical manner. © 2022 Georg Thieme Verlag.
