Abstract

Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is a complex and serious mental disorder that has a high suicide rate. There is emerging evidence for the use of nonconvulsive neurostimulation therapies, including transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), repetitive TMS (rTMS), and transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) in controlling some of the characteristic symptoms. Here the authors summarise the current evidence for the efficacy and tolerability of TMS, rTMS and tDCS in managing symptoms of BPD. Copyright © 2022 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd
