Abstract

The passing dynamism in the tale "El rico desesperado" in the 1614 Quixote is a prodigious creation by Avellaneda: the 'door' structures the tragical mecanism, even if such a word barely appears. With various and complementary modalities, it embodies transgression, rape and suicide -essential ingredients of Bandello's novella from which the continuator takes his inspiration. © 2022 Universite de Bordeaux III (Michel de Montaigne), Institut Hispanique.
