Abstract

Johannes Bobrowski (born in Tilst, attended the Municipal Secondary School in Königsberg) decided on historical and cultural heritage of his homeland as the "main theme" of his works. One of his historical and biographical points of reference to the past is his short story entitled The Epitaph for Pinnau, in which the conversation over dinner at Kant's keeps revolving around the suicide of that young accountant and J. G. Hamann's acquaintance. The text constitutes an attempt to reflect in this perspective on the philosophical attitudes of both "critical friends" - Kant and Hamann. © 2022, Nicolaus Copernicus University.
