Abstract

But mental health issues in the mining industry were on the rise even before COVID-19. In 2019, Vale Canada published the results of a 5-year study analyzing the mental health of its employees in Sudbury, Ontario. Half of the more than 2,000 respondents in the survey reported work-related mental health issues, 10[%] of whom had experienced thoughts of suicide.
