METHOD: Data on all suicides between 2004 and 2014 were collected and coded according to the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems ICD-10 as code X60.0, which correspond to suicide or self-inflicted injurie. Articles from Scielo and Pubmed databases were selected. Readings were also used in some specialized books on the subject.

Literature shows that exists relation between gender and suicide's incidence. It also shows that economic stressors are related with self-harm injuries.
