Abstract

Women, in their suicide, are no longer to be considered as hysterical women who lie to doctors and whose psychoanalysis would propose to give the symptom's truth. Faced, in our research, with particularly high figures, in Brittany, regarding the transition to the suicidal act of women, we have retained three clinical cases of dead women to identify, in their life trajectories, the vulnerabilities that would have led them to suicide. In reference to Freud's centenary text Au-delà du principe de plaisir, we were particularly interested in the context of the haste of the act and of this imperative need to stop the living in excess. © 2021 Elsevier Masson SAS
