Abstract

Depression is a type of mental illness that can be said as the feeling of being down emotionally which may affect an individual likeness of doing activities that are usually enjoyable by that individual. Recent researches have mentioned the global increase in depression rates. This anxiety and depression have led to a substantial increase in suicides worldwide. Although, there are some public platforms available to cater this situation, people usually are reluctant to use these platforms as they are afraid of being judged by the public for having this mental disorder. This research reviews the existing platforms available to assist people suffering from depression and suggests the creation of an effective and more private platform that patients can use to obtain counseling from experts. The suggested platform integrates a chatbot to keep patient's mood intact while waiting for assistance. This research advocates an approach where people suffering from depression can obtain much-needed help without the feeling of being judged for having such mental illness. © 2019 by Advance Scientific Research.
