Abstract

Suicidal behavior in adolescence is a complex, multifactorial problem. One of the outstanding risk factors is imitation suicide, which has been called the Werther effect or Copycat effect. In this regard, it arises to raise the concern What leads a teenager to try to imitate suicidal behavior? What psycho-educational or sociological theories can explain this phenomenon? In addition, suicide in adolescence is a public health problem because it is a biologically, psychologically, socially and culturally vulnerable population representing the future economic and social cost of any country by requiring educational and health programmers in its prevention. © 2020, Revista Salus.
